I continually feel so honored to be your Queen!
We have been very busy as a temple, working on numerous events and activities. I feel very fortunate to be a member of an organization where our cause is so inspiring and our members are so hard working!
We started October with the West Side Nut Club Fall Festival, for which the Egyptian Band and Patrol ran food booths. I had the honor of spending a day with the Patrol, selling brain sandwiches at the window. It was a hot, but rewarding day, as was the week! I appreciate all who came to the Stated Session that month as well. I know that makes for a really long day.
At our November Stated Session, we celebrated Founder’s Day. Thank you to PQ Nancy Markham for sharing about our beautiful Isis Temple. I love hearing about the special women who began our beautiful order and our temple’s history!
Also in November, we were honored to host our Supreme Queen, Cathy Carol Rose at our Official Visit, held at the Masonic Lodge in Evansville. From the Banquet to the Ceremonial to the unit performances, the evening was simply beautiful! We welcomed 10 new Princesses into our beautiful order: Andrea Byers, Ashley Coomes, Crystal Day, Taylor Gatewood, Rachel Gollaher, Airaka Hooper, Wendy Morris, Rebecca Poe, Lisa Raben, and Brandi Staples. Ladies, we were so honored to have you all with us and hope you felt the closeness and love we share! Please know you made our day very special with your attentiveness and excitement. We look so forward to seeing you at meetings and hope you find your niche and get involved. The more you work together for the precious Shriners Hospitals for Children®, the stronger the bonds you create.
I wish to thank PQ Kathy Widick for our rooms at the Tropicana and to her and Princess Marshall Brandi Rickard-Curry for the table favors at the banquet. Ladies of the Household, I thank you for your love & support! Officers, Thank you so much for your hard work on the ritual and setup. Princess Musician Jane Harmon, thank you so much for your beautiful music. Supreme Queen Official Visit Committee - PQ Linda Trible, JPQ Tina Dobbs, and Princess Royal Krista Williams, thank you for a beautiful day! I would also like to additionally thank Tina, Krista and PQ Sharon Norvell for the Chocolate Truffles at the Banquet - they were perfection! Reception Committee: Princess Chaplain Sharon Harbison, Princesses Jinny Parsons and Sandy Mock, along with PQ Jean Rickard, thank you for the banquet decorations!
Thank you also to the units for your beautiful performances! I would also like to say a special “Thank You” to Princess Royal Krista Williams for taking such good care of me! And finally, thank you to my amazing Ceremonial Assistants: PSQ Sue Layman, PQ’s Margaret Coomer and Penny McDonald for all your help and guidance!
At the December Stated Session, we had a great meeting, filled with fun, laughter and a few tears. There were so many ugly sweaters to enjoy; the room was filled with warmth and love! It was lovely to see so many of our new Princesses in attendance and having a great time. We really do “have fun so the kids can run!” Thank you to the Patrol for hosting our annual Christmas Party. The decorations were beautiful, the food was delicious, and the gift exchange game was so much fun! I lost total track of time (that is how you know you really enjoyed something)! Thank you to the Officers, Ceremonial Assistants, Princeton Nile Club, Past Queen’s, Quilters, and Units for the gifts and all your love! Love really does make the world go ‘round, I have no doubt.
Princess Royal Krista Williams, Princess Chaplain Sharon Harbison, Past Queen Judy Peak, and Princess Sandy Mock all visited our members who are shut-ins or in rehabilitation. JPQ Tina joined us for lunch at the Red Fez and we headed out. I truly enjoyed meeting members and seeing members I have not seen in a while. It was a special day and we all benefited from the experience!
Thank you to all who helped wrap gifts for the Hadi Hospital Staff’s Children’s Christmas Party! I appreciate it so much! The party was so much fun and I enjoyed being a part of it. I honored to bring my students from McGary Middle School to sing for the families and children! Giving back is such a rewarding experience for us all!
I really enjoyed the Princeton Nile Club’s annual Cookie Exchange! I think this will be an event I have to attend from here on out!
On January 2nd, we have a very special meeting. We have scheduled our third Ceremonial that will also include our Memorial Service. I feel it will be so beautiful and poignant to have our new Princesses see us honor our dearly departed members. Please come and help us welcome new members and memorialize those we have lost. It will be a special evening and one we will not soon forget!
We will also have a wonderful Social Event in January! Mark your calendars! January 16th at 6pm at Bethel United Church of Christ on N. Greenriver Rd. We will have a Spaghetti Dinner with salad, bread (baked by our resident Baker Phenom, Princess Royal Krista Williams), and assorted desserts. We ask for a $5 donation per plate. Come enjoy fellowship and great food for a great cause!
Be on the lookout for another social event in February! These events are my favorites; I just love spending time with you all! Our amazing Casino Night will happen on Saturday, March 4th this year! Be on the lookout for tickets and information. You will not want to miss the fun, food, and fellowship!
March 6th at 7pm at Hadi Temple on the 2nd floor will be our annual Election of Officers, so please plan to attend. Per the Supreme Temple Bylaws, Article V, Section 4 (b): Campaigning for or against any Candidate shall not be permitted and could result in suspension or expulsion.
I know my year is certainly far from over, and yet I feel the time just flying by so quickly! This is my last newsletter to you and I really want to take this opportunity to express what cannot really be expressed in words. I feel such humility that I have been able to serve Isis Temple as Queen this year. Thank you all for your support, wisdom, compassion, understanding, engagement, and love. I believe that God is best described as pure love and yet love is so indescribable. That is how I feel for you all as well, the love is just indescribable. I wish you all blessings, love, and prosperity throughout the New Year!

Jennifer Nance, Queen
