I hope everyone is having a great summer. Mine started by going to the 103rd Supreme
Session of Daughters of the Nile. For some reason I was dreading it, but by the time I
was ready to leave I was excited. It was fun and very informative.
Pr. Royal Casey Wonders and I attended a Daughters of the Nile Foundation reception
for major donors. Isis Temple No. 41 donated $20,865.00 to the foundation in 2018. The reception was very nice, and we received a lovely plaque.
Isis Temple was awarded a certificate for initiating 13 members in 2018 and another certificate for our census remaining the same. We did not grow our total membership
in 2018, but we didn’t shrink either.
There were five candidates this year running for Supreme Princess Badoura. Vickie Hill,
PQ, from Waco, TX, was elected. Check out Princess Badoura Kathy Stewart’s article in
this newsletter for more information.
The Princeton Nile Club held their White Elephant Auction on June 18. Lots of prizes
were brought. Shirley Sheets, PQ, was the auctioneer, and they made good money. It
was a lot of fun, and the food was good as always.
My husband and I attended the Shriners Imperial Session in Nashville, TN, in July.
Daughters of the Nile had an “Imperial Ceremonial.” It was awesome! Elim Temple
No. 76 in Tampa, FL, took in 2 members from Guatemala. It took 13 temples to put
on this event. Past Supreme Queens, Past Queens, and several Ladies of the
Household served as officers and password attendants.
On July 7, I traveled to Madisonville, KY, for the Supreme Queen’s visit to Neith Temple
No. 80. I was accompanied by Sue Layman, PSQ; Sharon Norvell, PQ; Tina Dobbs, PQ;
Krista Williams, PQ; and Pr. Royal Casey.
We had our official visit from the Supreme Queen the next day, on Monday, July 8. Everyone did a great job. I had to move the microphone every time I stood up, and then I
would forget to move it back to use it! Supreme Queen Dale was very down to earth. She loved her suite at the Tropicana Hotel and used the jacuzzi tub after our ceremonial was over. Krista Williams, PQ, and I took her to Indianapolis the next day for the ceremonial at Koran Temple No. 30.
Everyone has been telling me that now the Supreme Queen’s visit is over I can sit back and enjoy the rest of the year. I sure hope it’s true. My Ceremonial Assistants this year have been invaluable. I’m sure they will be glad when my year is over so I will quit bothering them with so many questions! Ha ha!
